Task leader: DIHR

Duration: Months 6-36

Activities

Annual workshops (2017-2018)

DIHR and Tallinn will co-organize annual two-day workshops at respectively TLU and DIHR with the participation of researchers from both institutions as well as national and international experts from other institutions, including researchers from DIHR partner countries in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. This will at once facilitate TLU networks and partnerships outside a European context and contribute to building research capacities with researchers in DIHR partner countries. At the same time, the participation of researchers from these countries will provide unique perspectives on universality debates, adding to TLU knowledge and understanding of the topic. In the workshops, participants will present their research on the topics in question, providing feed-back to each other and discussing possibilities for joint research projects and other activities related to the topic. Both workshops will produce a small discussion paper, based on input from participants.
Workshop 2017 (TLU): Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion. Workshop 2018 (DIHR): Identity Rights
The workshops will lead to joint publications (book chapter or article) between TLU, DIHR staff and DIHR partners, and also result in joint application for research project or network on topic.
